In today’s post I thought it would be good to point out some of the great features of our EHR Note Templates. If you’re a current EHR user there is a good chance you are already familiar with these features and this might just be a refresher. If you’re not current EHR user maybe this will help you consider AdvancedMD’s EHR, if you are currently in the market for one.
Here are three features that are great to use when work working with Note Templates:
1. Template Library Import– You can create templates from scratch, but who has the time to do that? It’s much faster to import pre-built templates for 36 different specialties. Once you’ve imported them it is easy to move, add, or delete fields in the template.
To access the Template Library you’ll want to go to Admin –> Templates –> Library. Check the box next to your specialty or type in a few key words then click Filter. From here you can take a look at the template and try out the fields by previewing it or import it directly into your office key.
2. Copy and Paste – Once you import a template into your key, one feature that will make it easy to edit is Cut and Paste. You can move fields from tab to tab or even from template to template.
First, navigate to Admin –> Templates –> Note Templates and choose the template you would like to edit. Second, highlight the field(s) you would like to copy then click the copy icon in the toolbar. Then place the cursor on the tab or template you want those fields and click the paste icon. It may sound simple, but it will save you a great deal of time.
3. Auto Fill and Predefined Text – Another great feature of our EHR is the ability to pull in information from previous notes. You can Auto-Fill information that you know will be the same such as previous weight, height or history items.
Providers can also put in predefined text, such as normals or things they may type often, reducing the amount of time it takes to document visits.
Hopefully this article has given you some ideas of what you can do in our EHR Note Templates. If you have additional questions reach out to your coach, support, or check out the F1 help file in the EHR.
